MATH (Mrs. Thomas)

  • Reviewing our test for Chapter 8 & 9 as well as having a collective review of the year on Friday (we will be playing a game to review).
  • Starting Chapter 10 Multiply by 2-digit numbers
  • It is imperative that every student know their multiplication facts through 12’s. Please review these with your child nightly until they know them extremely well.
  • There is no Simple Solutions Quiz this week, instead we will be having a multiplication facts quiz over all of our facts 0-12. Students will have 10 minutes to do as many as they can.
  • Homework this week is IXL 4th Grade D.23, D.24, and D.25. As usual students must finish all three lessons or work on them actively for 1 hour, which ever comes first.

SCIENCE (Mrs. Thomas):

  • Science Test Tuesday, Quizlet has been up and we will review with Kahoot in class on Monday.
  • We will then start on Chapter 6 Lesson 4 on Thursday.

RELIGION (Mrs. Thomas):

  • Finish up Chapter 8 and then start on Chapter 9 Holy Spirit on Tuesday. Working on an in class project Thursday.
  • Please make sure to have your child turn in their three community service hours by February 21. The form can be found here if you need another copy.

Reminders:

  • Please talk to your child about their school supplies. Many students have either run out of their tape or lost it, many do not have scissors and some have used all of their markers etc up. We do use glue sticks and tape often.
  • January 27-31: Catholic Schools Week. Please check the flyer that was sent home last week or see below to see what each day is.*Everyday – Students are collecting money to benefit Nativity Academy at St. Boniface. The class that collects the most will receive a “Free Friday” Celebration.*Sunday is brunch in Schindler Hall 9:30-11:00 a.m., Monday is PJ Day, Tuesday is Crazy Sock day, Wednesday is “Dress-up” Day, wear your Sundays finest, Thursday is TEAM day, wear your favorite sports team shirt and/or baseball cap  and Friday is Spirit Wear & Crazy Hair Day (if you did not purchase a CSW shirt your student will need to pay $2 (benefits Nativity Academy in order to wear their own spirit wear shirt) this is also special dessert day for the students in the cafe as well as a Teachers vs. Middle School Volleyball game at 1:30 in the gym.

MATH (Mrs. Thomas)

  • Continue to work on Chapter 9
  • Homework this week will be three IXL Lessons that are in your child’s recommended lessons from their MAP testing data. The students will receive their packets with the approved lessons highlighted on Monday. If they did not get to take the Math MAP test last week they will complete three Multiplication lessons of their choosing.
  • There will be no Simple Solutions Quiz this week.

SCIENCE (Mrs. Thomas):

  • Continue working on Minerals and starting Chapter 6 Lesson 2 on Rocks.
  • I have asked each student to keep their Lesson Checks to use to study for the test we will have in the coming weeks. Please see that these are not thrown away from their Friday folders.

RELIGION (Mrs. Thomas):

  • Reconciliation is Monday for both classes. Please make sure your child is prepared for this. I will have a copy of the Act of Contrition for each student before they go down.
  • Finishing up monthly Stewardship and then working on Witnesses to God’s Kingdom.

MAP Testing Dates

Parents,

Welcome back! It’s so great to be back in the swing of school! Thanks again to all the parents who helped make our Christmas party so special! Also thank you to every family who surprised Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. James with gift cards! We really appreciate them and are so blessed.

We are going to complete our second round of MAP testing very soon. Students will be completing the math MAP test tomorrow, 1/9. Students will be taking the Language and the Reading MAP tests next Thursday and Friday, 1/23-1/24. Please make sure your child is well-rested and eats a healthy breakfast so that they are at their best for the test! We know they will do so great!
